Free Education Sessions Across Canada
Join us for a series of practical education sessions with Justin Boulos, Clinical Educator, from WheelieWorx Australia.
Each session is designed to help clinicians confidently approach seating assessments and understand pressure cushion selection in real-world settings.

Morning Session
REAL WORLD SEATING ASSESSMENTS: WHAT TO DO AND HOW TO RESOLVE IT (STEP-BY-STEP)
Many clinicians were taught a detailed supine mat assessment during training. But in reality? Most seating assessments happen in the community with limited resources.
This workshop will give you a realistic option into seating assessments that you can do with confidence – not guessing.
You will learn also how to resolve two of the most common postures seen in wheelchair users:
- Posterior Pelvic Tilt
- Pelvic Obliquity
You will learn what to do with your assessment with step-by-step instructions. ‘If this, do this’.
By the end of the session, you will feel more confident to:
- Understand how the body works and how it impacts posture
- How to assess someone’s posture to plan a trial solution
- Selecting positioning strategies that actually address the problem
- Explaining your reasoning confidently to suppliers, teams and funders
This is a practical session focused on real-world clinical decision making.
Afternoon Session
DEMYSTIFYING PRESSURE CUSHIONS: HOW THEY WORK AND HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT ONE
Pressure cushions are one of the most important components of a wheelchair system.
Many clinicians are asked to choose between dozens of options without ever being taught how these cushions actually work. In this session we open the cushions up.
Justin walks through the internal structure and biomechanical principles of common pressure cushion designs so clinicians can understand:
- How cushions redistribute load
- How cushions interact with pelvic positioning
- Why different cushions suit different postures and risk profiles
Once you understand the design principles, cushion selection becomes far more logical. You will leave with a clearer framework to help match cushion design to the needs of your client.
